JERUSALEM, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Israeli EuroLeague club Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday announced the signing of forward James Webb on a two-year contract.

The 29-year-old American played last season at Valencia Basket, where he averaged 8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 32 EuroLeague games.

Webb played college basketball at North Idaho and Boise State, then in 2017 was signed by the Brooklyn Nets, where he played a total of 10 NBA games.

His European career, which began in 2018, has also seen him take in spells at German side Baskets Bonn, Larisa of Greece and Spanish ACB League team UCAM Murcia.

"James is versatile and is able to play in two forward positions, which is something that can help us a lot," said Maccabi head coach Oded Kattash. "He plays active with a good shot and has good character and EuroLeague experience".

Webb commented that "Maccabi is a top-level club with a great winning history. The fans are exciting and very passionate, and I am super excited to get there and add a little more energy." Enditem
