HANOI, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's fiscal revenue reached 876 trillion Vietnamese dong (36.8 billion U.S. dollars) and expenditure of 805 trillion dong (33.8 billion dollars) in the first half of this year, according to its Ministry of Finance.

Fiscal revenue in the first half of the year reached 54 percent of the annual target, whereas the fiscal expenditure was 38.8 percent, the local newspaper Vietnam News reported on Friday, citing the ministry.

By late June, nearly 180 trillion dong (7.6 billion dollars) of government bonds had been issued, with an average term of 12.23 years and an average annual coupon of 3.7 percent, according to the ministry.

In the first six months of the year, approximately 70 trillion dong (3 billion dollars) of tax was extended in favor of the business sector, it said.

It is forecast that the second half of 2023 would remain tough with more challenges, the newspaper said, citing the ministry.

The ministry will focus on measures to keep public debt in check and improve the efficiency of loan usage while accelerating the delivery of public money to reach the disbursement target set by the prime minister for 2023, the newspaper said. Enditem
