RIO DE JANEIRO, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Argentine coach Eduardo Coudet has been appointed manager of Internacional for a second time, the Brazilian Serie A club said on Wednesday.

The 48-year-old replaces former Brazil boss Mano Menezes, who was sacked on Tuesday after a series of poor performances.

"Sport Club Internacional announces Eduardo Coudet as the new head coach ... on a contract that runs until the end of the 2023 season," the Porto Alegre-based club said in a statement.

He will be joined by assistant manager Lucho Gonzalez, physical trainer Octavio Manera, fitness coach Guido Cretari and performance analyst Carlos Fernandez, the club added.

Coudet, who was previously in charge of Internacional from 2019 to 2020, has been out of work since parting ways with Atletico Mineiro in June.

Internacional are currently 11th in Brazil's 20-team Serie A standings with just six wins from 15 games so far this season. Enditem
