Firefighter killed in accident on way to douse blaze in Bangladesh

DHAKA, July 25 (Xinhua) -- A firefighter among two people was killed and several others were injured when a unit of firefighters was on its way to fight a blaze at a factory in Narayanganj district, about 20 km from the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka, a police official has said.

Hafizur Rahman, sub-inspector of local Narayanganj Sadar Police Station, told journalists that the accident left two people, including a fire service driver, dead on the spot on Monday. And the other deceased was a pedestrian.

According to the official, the driver of the firefighters' vehicle lost control of the steering and hit several vehicles and pedestrians in Chashara area of Narayanganj.

He said several firefighters and pedestrians were injured in the accident. Enditem
