Myanmar exports over 551,000 tons of beans, pulses in April-July

YANGON, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar exported some 551,802 tons of beans and pulses worth over 439 million U.S. dollars in the first four months of the 2023-24 fiscal year, showed the Ministry of Commerce data on Monday.

From April 1 to July 28 this year, Myanmar shipped 462,894 tons of beans and pulses via sea routes and exported 88,907 tons via land ports.

According to the ministry data, Myanmar saw its beans and pulses export declining over the cited four months from a year earlier.

Rice, beans and pulses are the Southeast Asian country's major agricultural products. Myanmar earned over 1.08 billion U.S. dollars from agricultural products export in the first four months of the current fiscal year, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

Myanmar exports beans and pulses mainly to China, India, and European countries. Enditem
