ULAN BATOR, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Data released by the Mongolian Customs General Administration (MCGA) Tuesday showed that the country's total imports and exports expanded 22.2 percent year on year to 13.7 billion U.S. dollars in the first seven months of this year.
The Asian country registered a surplus in its foreign trade balance as exports exceeded imports by 3.7 billion dollars, mainly due to a significant increase in the exports of mining products, the MCGA said.
Mining products accounted for over 90 percent of the mineral-rich country's total exports in the seven-month period.
China, Switzerland and the South Korea were the top three export destinations for Mongolia in the period, accounting for 96.9 percent of its total exports, it added. Enditem
