RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Jonathan Calleri and Luicano Neves scored in each half as Sao Paulo advanced to the Copa Sudamericana quarterfinals on Thursday with a 2-0 home victory over San Lorenzo.

Calleri put the hosts ahead by heading home after Wellington Rato's cross on the stroke of halftime.

Luciano doubled the advantage just after the hour when he combined with Rodrigo Nestor before firing in from close range.

The result gave the Brazilian side a 2-1 win on aggregate after San Lorenzo prevailed 1-0 in last week's first leg in Argentina.

Sao Paulo are one of five Brazilian teams to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana, South America's equivalent of the Europa League. Enditem
