BERLIN, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- After ongoing problems with her government plane, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on Tuesday cancelled her trip to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
"We have tried everything. Unfortunately, it is logistically impossible" to continue the trip, said Baerbock on the online platform X, formerly known as Twitter. "This is more than annoying."
Baerbock was first stranded in Abu Dhabi on Monday morning on her way to Australia. Two attempts to continue to Australia failed and the Airbus A340-300 with the minister on board turned back to land in Abu Dhabi.
"We will take the two A340s out of service as soon as possible, i.e. in the coming weeks," the German Air Force said on the platform X on Tuesday.
The incident was the latest in a series of problems with government planes. Back in May, Baerbock's return trip from Qatar was delayed by a flat tire. Enditem
