KUNDUZ, Afghanistan, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- A former police officer who served last year as counter-narcotics chief of north Afghanistan's Kunduz province was gunned down on Thursday, provincial police spokesman Jumadin Khaksar said.
The officer was shot dead by his bodyguard on Thursday morning, the official confirmed, adding that the assailant had been arrested.
The late officer had no official responsibility in the police department, but was a supporter of the administration, according to locals. Enditem
