RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Midfielder Gerson struck in the 94th minute as Flamengo came from behind to secure a 3-2 away victory over Coritiba in Brazil's Serie A championship on Sunday.

Robson put the hosts ahead with a 15th-minute penalty but Gabriel Barbosa equalized when he also converted from the spot four minutes later.

Uruguay international midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta gave the visitors the lead by heading home on the half-hour before Eduardo Silva put the hosts back on level terms after the interval with a close range finish.

Gerson broke the deadlock again as he combined with Luiz Araujo before firing a long-range shot into the top left corner.

The result leaves Flamengo third with 35 points from 20 games, 13 points behind leaders Flamengo. Coritiba are 19th in the 20-team standings, 21 points further back.

In other Brazilian Serie A fixtures on Sunday, Santos edged to a 2-1 home win over Gremio, Bahia cruised to a 4-0 home victory over Bragantino and Vasco da Gama won 1-0 at home to Atletico Mineiro. Enditem
