IOM Afghanistan reopens Kandahar office to help returning refugees

KABUL, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Afghanistan has reopened its local office in south Afghanistan's Kandahar province, state-run Bakhtar news agency reported on Monday.

According to the report, the IOM Afghanistan office located in Spin Boldak, a town on the border with Pakistan, had been closed for two months. It provides assistance to returning Afghan refugees and displaced people in the region.

Afghan Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has been working with the IOM Afghanistan in partnership under an agreement to provide help and services to the Afghans in need, the report said. Enditem
