Undetonated munitions kill navy EOD specialist in N. Iran

TEHRAN, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- One explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) specialist of the Iranian Navy was killed, and two others were injured as unexploded munitions went off in a shooting range in northern Iran.

In a statement on its website, the Iranian army identified the killed navy specialist as Arash Amiri.

The statement said he had been dispatched, along with a team, to clear the Gilavan firing range in Gilan province after a shooting training mission was finished.

It added the two injured EOD specialists have been transferred to the hospital. Enditem
