SUVA, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Fiji Police Force is dealing with the presence of drugs among young children within school environments, according to Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro on Wednesday.

Naisoro said more than seven students have been discovered in possession of drugs like marijuana this year, reported the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation news website.

Police are bolstering presence in schools and communities through awareness campaigns, the spokesperson said.

The country's Ministry of Education has also emphasized the importance of parental involvement.

The ministry is engaged in developing a bill focused on addressing volatile substance abuse, aiming to provide greater avenues for intervention in such matters. Enditem
