AMMAN -- The Jordanian Armed Forces said on Monday that it had shot down a drone in the eastern military zone that attempted to illegally cross the border into Jordan from Syria.

The border guard forces, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Department and other military security units, detected on Sunday the unmanned drone and shot it down inside the Jordanian territories, said an official military source in a statement. (Jordan-Syria-Drone Downing)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli lawmakers on Monday lambasted Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and called for his resignation after he made public his meeting with Libyan Foreign Minister Najla al-Mangoush.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry revealed in an official press release on Sunday that the two ministers, whose countries don't have official ties, met in Rome last week. Cohen said the meeting was "the first step" toward building future ties with Libya and their discussions encompassed preserving the heritage of the Jewish community in Libya and renovating synagogues there. KHARTOUM -- General Commander of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan said on Monday that he will not reach any agreement with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Al-Burhan made the remarks when addressing the soldiers of Flamingo naval base in the military area of the Red Sea region in eastern Sudan, according to Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council. (Sudan-Conflict-Agreement)

BAGHDAD -- Five Iranian pilgrims and an Iraqi driver were killed and 15 other Iranian pilgrims wounded on Monday in a bus accident in Iraq's eastern province of Wasit, the provincial government said in a statement.

The accident occurred earlier in the day when a bus carrying Iranian pilgrims overturned on the main road between the town of Gassan, near the Iranian-Iraqi border, and the town of al-Daboni, north of the provincial capital Kut, some 180 km southwest of Baghdad, according to the statement published on the Facebook page of the provincial government.
