YANGON, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 5,000 ecstasy pills and 266,000 stimulant tablets in recent operations conducted in the eastern Shan state, the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) said on Saturday.

Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a vehicle in the state's Tachileik town on Friday, seizing 5,000 ecstasy pills worth about 200 million kyats (about 95,200 U.S. dollars) and arresting two suspects, the CCDAC said.

In another development, police on Friday raided a house near Kyaunghto village in the state's Kyauktalonegyi township, seizing 266,000 stimulant tablets worth about 133 million kyats (about 63,000 dollars) and arresting one suspect, it said.
