PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's imports of oil and gas products totaled 2.28 billion U.S. dollars during the January-August period this year, down 9.5 percent from last year, according to a report from the General Department of Customs and Excise.

The Ministry of Mines and Energy predicts that the demand for oil and gas products is expected to rise to 4.8 million tons in 2030, up from 2.8 million tons in 2020. (Cambodia-Oil-Gas)

NEW DELHI -- Three women were buried in a crater following a land subsidence in India's eastern state of Jharkhand, officials said on Monday.

The incident took place on Sunday, as the three local women were caught in the subsidence after a portion of land caved inside Gondudih colliery of Danbad district, about 165 km northeast of Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand. (India-Land Subsidence)

HANOI -- The Vietnamese capital city of Hanoi recorded 2,010 dengue fever cases over the past week in 29 districts, doubling the number reported in the final week of August, according to the city's center for disease control.

Since early this year, the city has reported 10,372 dengue fever cases, including three fatalities. Vietnam reported an additional 5,180 dengue fever cases from Sept. 8 to Sept. 15, which increased the total infections nationwide to 81,808. (Vietnam-Hanoi-Dengue)

DHAKA -- Bangladesh's trade deficit in July, the first month of the current 2023-24 fiscal year, dipped by 69.73 percent to 635 million U.S. dollars year on year, according to the latest data from the central bank.

The Bangladesh Bank data revealed that the country's import payment was 4,991 million dollars in July, down 14.92 percent, while earnings from exports stood at 4,356 million dollars, up 15.61 percent, during the same period. (Bangladesh-Trade Deficit) Enditem
