MANILA -- Philippine troops killed at least six suspected rebels in a clash in central Philippines, a military general said on Friday.

Lieutenant General Benedict Arevalo, commander of the Visayas command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, said fighting between the military and the New People's Army (NPA) broke out on Thursday on the outskirt of Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental province. (Philippines-NPA-Clashes)

ACCRA -- At least nine people were shot dead and some others wounded by a group of unknown gunmen on buses in Ghana's Upper East Region, an official confirmed to Xinhua late Thursday.
