MADRID, Sept 28 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid moved up to fifth in La Liga with a controversial 2-0 win away to Osasuna on Thursday night.

Antoine Griezmann put the visitors ahead in the 20th minute with a shot from a tight angle after a ball from Samuel Lino, and Rodrigo Riquelme added a second goal ten minutes from time.

However, Osasuna were furious that defender David Garcia had had a goal ruled out five minutes earlier for a supposed foul on Axel Witsel, and coach Jagoba Arrasate was sent off for his protests.

Osasuna striker Chimy Avila received a direct red card in the 85th minute after a wild challenge on Alvaro Morata, who also got his marching orders for a second yellow after using an elbow on Avila.

Celta Vigo are still looking for their first home win of the season after drawing 1-1 at home to Alaves, despite not managing a single shot on target all match.

Celta took the lead after a dreadful error from Alaves defender Rafa Marin, who passed back to his goalkeeper without looking where he was, and sent the ball rolling into the back of the net.

Things went wrong for Celta in the 68th minute when Luca de la Torre was sent off after being shown a second yellow card.

Alaves equalized thanks to Samu's close-range effort five minutes later, and with better finishing the visitors would have taken all three points.

Granada remain in the bottom three after a 1-1 draw at home to Real Betis in an entertaining Andalusian derby.

Assane Diao put Betis ahead five minutes after halftime, but in a game where both sides had chances to score more, Lucas Boye equalized for Granada in the 66th minute.

On Wednesday, Real Madrid won 2-0 at home to Las Palmas, while Girona went top of La Liga after a 2-1 win away to Villarreal. Enditem
