MANILA, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Over 4 million foreign tourists, including more than 194,000 Chinese nationals, have visited the Philippines since January this year, the Philippines' Department of Tourism (DOT) said on Friday.

Philippine Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco said the country has earned 316 billion pesos (roughly 5.59 billion U.S. dollars) in revenue as of Sept. 29.

"We are very close to our target of 4.8 million international visitors by the end of this year," Frasco said.

South Korea ranked the first in terms of the country's top source markets, delivering more than a quarter of total international arrivals to the Southeast Asian country, followed by the United States, Japan, China and Australia. Enditem
