HANGZHOU, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- India's Aditi Ashok blew a seven-shot lead on Sunday to finish behind Yubol Arpichaya of Thailand in the women's golf tournament at the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Ashok started the fourth round at 22 under par following Saturday's career-best score of 61, only to see her lead dwindle before finally disappearing on the par-three 16th at the West Lake International Golf Course.

Yubol struck a killer blow with a birdie on the next hole, going on to complete her tournament at 19 under on 269, two shots ahead of Ashok.

"I just stuck to my game plan today, and I am so happy that I made it through," said Yubol, who posted scores of 67-65-69-68.

"I realized I had sealed the win when I was on the 17th when I made the putt and got that birdie. That gave me the confidence until the final hole."

South Korea's Yoo Hyun-jo jumped into third place, three strokes better than China's Lin Xiyu despite the latter having a five-stroke lead over her at the beginning of play.

Yubol left West Lake as a double gold medallist as she, along with Thailand teammates Kongkraphan Patcharajutar and Eila Galitsky, also claimed the women's team title, in which South Korea and China finished second and third respectively.

On the men's side, third-round leader Kho Taichi of Hong Kong (China) withstood a fightback from South Korea's Im Sung-jae to win the men's golf gold by a stroke at 27 under.

Hung Chian-Yao of Chinese Taipei earned bronze after finishing on 24 under.

Im added a team gold to his individual silver as he and teammates Kim Si-woo, Jang Yu-bin and Cho Woo-young put together a dominant show in their quest for a team win. South Korea finished a combined 76 under to finish 25 strokes clear of silver medallists Thailand. Enditem
