CARACAS, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Nahuel Ferraresi and Eric Ramirez have returned to Venezuela's squad for World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Chile, the Venezuelan Football Federation said on Monday.

Manchester City central defender Ferraresi, who is currently on loan at Sao Paulo, has not played for the national team since suffering a knee ligament injury last November.

Forward Ramirez returns from a 20-month international absence as a reward for his sparkling form for Colombian side Atletico Nacional.

As expected, head coach Fernando Batista included veteran River Plate striker Salomon Rondon and experienced Santos midfielder Tomas Rincon in his 28-man squad.

Venezuela will meet Brazil in Cuiaba on October 12 before facing Chile in Maturin five days later.

The Vinotinto began their South American qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup with a 1-0 loss to Colombia and a 1-0 victory over Paraguay last month.
