COLOMBO -- Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe has directed government officials to prioritize the safety of Sri Lankan citizens residing in Israel in light of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, the President's Media Division (PMD) said on Thursday.

The PMD said in a press release that the Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel and relevant government departments have collaboratively initiated a special program aimed at offering assistance to the Sri Lankan community living in Israel. (Sri Lanka-Israel-Citizens)

KUALA LUMPUR -- China Dongfeng Motor Industry Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday with the Malay Vehicle Importers and Traders Association of Malaysia (PEKEMA) as it seeks to use Malaysia as a hub for its exports to the region.

HERAT, Afghanistan -- Several historical monuments and cultural heritages have been damaged due to a series of devastating earthquakes and aftershocks that jolted west Afghanistan's Herat and the neighboring Badghis and Farah provinces, Herat's Provincial Director for Information and Culture Ahmadullah Muttaqi said on Thursday.

Identifying the damaged monuments, the official said that Qila Ikhtiarudin (Ikhtiarudin citadel), Herat's largest historic mosque Masjid Jami Herat and Minar Jam (the Minaret of Jam), are among the famous historical sites that have been damaged in the tremors. PHNOM PENH -- The China-Cambodia Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Center was launched in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, on Thursday, aiming to develop TCM in the Southeast Asian country.

Cambodia's Health Minister Chheang Ra, and Yu Yanhong, head of China's National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian jointly unveiled the center, which is located at the Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital.
