Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City reports 19 cases of monkeypox

HANOI, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam reported six more cases of monkeypox in one week, bringing total infection to 19, Vietnam's Health Ministry reported on Monday.

Ho Chi Minh City is quarantining and treating 12 cases of monkeypox, all of whom are in stable health condition.

In Vietnam, monkeypox is a group B infectious disease.

Since the first case was detected in September 2022, Ho Chi Minh City's Department of Health has ordered the Center for Disease Control and other health facilities to strengthen prevention and control among communities. Enditem
