CANBERRA -- Indigenous Australian leaders have identified "deep-seated racism" as a factor in the defeat of the Indigenous Voice referendum.

SEOUL -- South Korea on Saturday confirmed two more cases of lumpy skin disease (LSD) at local cattle farms, after reporting the country's first-ever case on the previous day.

The additional LSD cases were confirmed at a beef cattle farm in Dangjin, around 80 km southwest of Seoul, and a milk cow farm in Pyeongtaek, about 60 km south of Seoul, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. (South Korea-Cattle Disease)

TOKYO -- The third batch of Fukushima nuclear-contaminated water to be released during Japan's next round of ocean discharge contains carbon-14, cobalt 60, strontium-90 and other radionuclides, according to pre-discharge test results released by the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO).

Despite mounting concerns and opposition among local fishermen as well as from other countries, TEPCO said that preparations for the third round of ocean discharge will begin after the second round of discharge is completed and relevant maintenance and confirmation operations are carried out. ZARANJ, Afghanistan -- An essential bridge in west Afghanistan's Nimroz province has been opened to traffic, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported Saturday.

The 300-meter-long bridge was constructed at a cost of 231 million afghanis (about 3.06 million U.S. dollars), was completed on Thursday with the financial support of local authorities and formally opened to traffic on Friday, the state media outlet added. (Afghanistan-Bridge) Enditem
