LUANDA, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- A seminar on hematology -- the study of blood and blood disorders -- was held Tuesday in Luanda, Angola's capital, with more than 90 representatives from Angolan medical institutions, including several national-level entities, in participation in-person or online.

The seminar featured two Chinese medical experts from the sponsor, Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co., Ltd. (Mindray), who delivered lectures focusing on the clinical application of blood biomarkers in tumors and the clinical diagnosis of hematological disorders.

Brigida dos Santos, the clinical director of Pediatric Hematological Institute Dr. Victoria do Espirito Santo, a pediatric blood research institute where the seminar was held, expressed gratitude on behalf of Angola's public health department and hospitals for Mindray's seminar. "The event effectively disseminated cutting-edge medical technology and clinical knowledge in Angola. We express hope for future opportunities to deepen academic exchange and clinical collaboration with China," she said.

Irene Bras, a clinical technologist at Army Clinic, emphasized the significance of participating in the seminar for her professional development. She expressed the hope for more academic guidance from Chinese companies in the field of infectious diseases in the future.

Feng Weiqian, Mindray's country manager for the Southern Africa Region, said that Mindray would invite more Chinese clinical professionals to share clinical diagnostic knowledge within the Angolan medical system and enhance the skills of healthcare practitioners, so as to benefit the Angolan people.

Mindray, headquartered in Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province, is one of the leading multinational medical instrumentation manufacturers. Enditem
