RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Gremio kept alive their hopes of a top-four finish by coming from behind to secure a 3-2 home win over Flamengo in Brazil's Serie A championship on Wednesday.

Everton Soares gave the visitors the lead just before halftime but second-half goals from Aldemir Ferreira, Nathan Fernandes and Andre Henrique set the hosts on course for victory.

Luiz Araujo pulled a goal back for Flamengo in the 89th minute but it was too little too late as Gremio ended a three-game losing run with their 14th win of the campaign.

The Porto Alegre outfit remain sixth in the 20-team standings with 47 points from 29 outings, 12 points behind leaders Botafogo. Flamengo are fourth with 50 points.
