TEHRAN, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Police Chief Ahmad-Reza Radan said on Thursday that the "Jaish al-Zulm" group killed one policeman and injured four others in an attack the night before in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
He said a group of "terrorists" attacked police patrol units, which were on duty, in Bampur County on Wednesday night, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.
"Jaish al-Zulm" group is a separatist cell that Iran says is linked with al-Qaeda.
Bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan, the province of Sistan and Baluchestan has been targeted by several terrorist attacks on both civilians and security forces over the past years.
In May, a clash between the members of the "Jaish al-Zulm" group and Iranian border guards in Saravan County of the province resulted in the deaths of at least six border guards. Enditem
