RAMALLAH/GAZA -- At least seven Palestinians were killed on Friday in various clashes with the Israeli army in the West Bank, the Ramallah-based Health Ministry said.

Among the seven dead, two were killed in a bombing by an Israeli reconnaissance plane in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, two by Israeli gunfire in the city of Jenin, and two in clashes in the Al-Fawwar camp, south of Hebron city, while another was shot dead during the Israeli forces' storming of the Qalandiya refugee camp, north of East Jerusalem, according to the ministry and an official of Al-Fawwar camp. TEHRAN -- At least 32 people were killed and 17 others injured on Friday in a fire in the northern Iranian province of Gilan, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported.

The fire erupted in the early morning hours at a rehabilitation center in Langarud County, ISNA quoted Deputy Governor of Gilan for Political, Security and Social Affairs Mohammad Jalaei as saying. (Iran-Rehab Center-Fire)

ROME -- Severe flooding in Tuscany Region caused at least five deaths as Storm Ciaran swept through northern and central Italy, local media reported Friday.

Two elderly individuals, aged 84 and 85, lost their lives in a town near Prato, Tuscany's second-largest city, while a third person perished in the seaside resort of Rosignano. Two more deaths were also reported in another town. (Italy-Storm-Death Toll)

ISLAMABAD -- At least five people were killed and 22 others injured when a blast went off near a police vehicle in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, police and government officials said.

The vehicle was passing by a busy market when the explosion occurred in the Ponda Bazar area of Dera Ismail Khan district of the province, Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Mansoor Arshad told Xinhua. (Pakistan-Police Vehicle-Blast) Enditem
