SYDNEY, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Researchers from Australia's Queensland Museum have recently described five new genera and 48 species of spiders in their latest study published in the Zootaxa journal.

According to the newly-released paper, the ground-hunting species are from the family Miturgidae, which can be found across Australia, particularly in arid habitats in open eucalypt forests, brigalow, mallee, heath, and desert.

The new genus Miturgopelma includes 31 new species, with seven new species added to the Knotodo group. Xistera, a predominantly western Australian and southern genus, takes in five new species, while Miturgiella vulgaris widespread in eastern Australia is also described.

Meanwhile, the Xeromiturga group has expanded with four new species. Enditem
