RAMALLAH -- Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Ishtaye stressed on Monday the rejection of any plans to displace Gaza residents "under the guise of humanitarian aid."

At a cabinet meeting, Ishtaye rejected "a proposal to create a maritime corridor between Cyprus and Gaza by some countries," affirming that "while we seek the arrival of aid, we do not accept the displacement of our people on ships for deportation under the guise of aid." GAZA -- The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced Monday the suspension of its humanitarian operations in Gaza within 48 hours.

KHARTOUM -- Fierce clashes have been raging between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to control an air base south of the Sudanese capital Khartoum, according to eyewitnesses and medical sources on Monday.

The clashes focused around the Al-Nujoumi Air Base in the Jabal Awliya area, about 50 km south of Khartoum, adjacent to the White Nile State, the eyewitnesses said. (Sudan-Clash-Air Base)

GAZA -- Palestinian security and medical sources said on Monday that 31 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli bombardment that targeted several homes in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

The Hamas-run Civil Defense in Gaza said in a statement that Israeli aircraft targeted a residential area in the Jabalia refugee camp, which led to the complete destruction of 12 homes and the killing of 31 people.
