Vietnam's gold prices reach 3-week high

HANOI, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's gold price rose 0.28 percent to 70.8 million Vietnamese dong (2,918.98 U.S. dollars) per tael on Friday morning, the highest since Oct. 31, local media reported.

Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) sold each tael of their gold at 70.05 million to 70.85 million dong at noon. The prices went up 250,000 dong per tael compared to the previous day.

The SJC gold ring price gained 0.42 percent to 60.1 million dong per tael.

A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.

Vietnam's gold prices reached the previous high on Oct. 21 at 71.05 million dong per tael. (1 U.S. dollar equals 24,255 Vietnamese dong). Enditem
