1 unconscious after car crashes into pedestrians in SW Japan

TOKYO, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- A car in Japan's southwestern prefecture of Fukuoka plowed into a group of at least six pedestrians on Tuesday morning, leaving one unconscious, local media reported.

According to local police, the accident took place at around 8 a.m. on a prefectural road approximately 100 meters west of Umi Station on the JR Kashii Line.

The unconscious pedestrian was reported to be a female high school student.

Following the accident, aerial footage from national broadcaster NHK showed visible damage to the front of the car.

The driver in his 50s was arrested on-site for negligent driving causing injury, with the details still under investigation, according to the police. Enditem
