KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Flooding triggered by continuous heavy rains has led to the evacuation of over 3,900 people in Malaysia's east coast state of Terengganu on Wednesday.

The displaced people are being housed at 30 flood relief centers, according to the social welfare department.

Meanwhile, Terengganu's neighboring Kelantan state was affected to a lesser degree with 370 people being displaced.

The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of heavy rain due to the Northeast Monsoon, which typically lasts from October to March, with strong winds and rough seas expected, in the northern states and the east coast area of the Southeast Asian country. Enditem
