ISLAMABAD, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- A roadside bomb blast hit a vehicle of the Pakistan army on Wednesday, killing two soldiers in the country's northwest tribal district of North Waziristan, the military said in a statement.

The Inter-Services Public Relations, the media wing of the Pakistan army, said that an improvised explosive device exploded near a convoy of security forces in the Razmak area of North Waziristan, a district in northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan.

The blast destroyed the vehicle and killed two soldiers onboard who were moving to conduct an operation against the terrorists in the area.

The military added that a clearing operation has been started to eliminate any terrorists present in the area.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Hailing the sacrifices of the soldiers, Pakistani Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar condemned the attack and reiterated the country's resolve to eradicate the menace of terrorism from its soil. Enditem
