COLOMBO, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's government signed an agreement on Tuesday to borrow 60 million U.S. dollars from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to finance the country's road construction, the Department of External Resources said.
The department said in a press release that such work comes under the overall integrated road investment program to improve road safety and minimize public inconvenience.
The loan will be provided from the ADB's concessional ordinary capital resources, and the total investment cost of the fourth tranche is estimated at 68.5 million dollars, out of which 8.5 million dollars has been agreed to be borne by the government, the department said. Enditem
