VIENTIANE, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Laos will organize various activities to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the establishment of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, local media reported on Thursday.
Lao News Agency quoted Vientiane Mayor Atsaphangthong Siphandone saying at a press conference on Monday that many activities will be held at the Patuxay monument park in Lao capital Vientiane, including art performances and acrobatic troupe shows.
The Lao People's Democratic Republic was founded on Dec. 2, 1975.
Atsaphangthong said that Vientiane is an old town that is linked to the long history of the growth of the Lao nation in each era.
The National Day is a time for the Lao people to pay respect and homage to the revolutionary leaders and review the country's accomplishments and consider what needs to be done in the future, said the report. Enditem
