MANILA -- An explosion occurred inside a gym of Mindanao State University in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur province in the southern Philippines on Sunday morning, killing at least four and injuring 50 others, local military and police said.

GAZA -- The Hamas-run Health Ministry said that Israel launched new airstrikes on various areas in the war-torn Gaza Strip on Sunday, resulting in dozens killed and wounded.

Rescue workers and medics told Xinhua that Israeli airstrikes targeted a populated residential building belonging to the Abu Aita family in the Jabalia Camp in the northern Strip. MOGADISHU -- The Somali National Army (SNA) on Sunday morning killed 60 al-Shabab militants and wounded several others in a joint operation near Halgan town in central Somalia, the government said.
