MADRID, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The second round of the Spanish Copa del Rey knockout competition continues on Wednesday with eight top-flight sides in action against lower league opposition, and the possibility that some giant-killing acts will be helped by the fact some coaches will give an opportunity to fringe players.

Betis should have few problems away to Villanovense and Real Sociedad, who have lost Ander Barrenetxea to an ankle injury, should get past Andratx on the island of Mallorca with relative ease.

However, some sides that are battling to avoid relegation could find themselves with problems. Bottom of the table Almeria are winless in La Liga and UD Barbastro, who play in the fourth tier of the Spanish game, could give them plenty of problems.

Terrassa, who play at the same level, could also hand Deportivo Alaves a difficult night, while CD Valle de Egues will provide a stiff test for a Mallorca side that is still without striker Vedat Muriqi and who haven't won in La Liga in 10 games.

Sevilla coach Diego Alonso has so far failed to win either a league game or in the Champions League, with his only success in almost two months coming in the last round of the cup.

The club is thought to already be looking for a replacement and that search will be stepped up if Sevilla slip up against Atletico Astorga, who play in the fifth tier of the Spanish game.

Rayo Vallecano have a potential banana-skin on their visit to play Yeclano in the south-west, with Yeclano currently playing in the same division as Sevilla's B-team, while Las Palmas' visit to play Tudelano also looks difficult, with the home side fourth in their group of the RFEF II (fourth tier).

Las Palmas have been very solid in La Liga, but top-flight survival is their main aim for the season and too many changes in the starting 11 could mean a difficult night for Garcia Pimienta's side. Enditem
