TEHRAN -- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani on Tuesday rejected Britain's accusations that Tehran is involved in Yemen-based Houthis' recent attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea.

Kanaani made the remarks in a statement published on the Foreign Ministry's website, in response to a statement by the British government released on Monday, in which it "condemned the attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea by Houthis" and said "Iran has long provided military and political support to Houthis and bears responsibility for the actions of its proxies and partners." GAZA -- At least 65 Palestinians were killed, and hundreds of others were wounded on Tuesday as a result of the Israeli attacks that targeted central and southern areas of the Gaza Strip, Palestinian security sources said.

The southern city of Khan Younis has witnessed unprecedentedly intense aerial and artillery attacks overnight into Tuesday, which were compounded by ground clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian militants in the eastern and northern parts of the city, as well as continuous advancement of Israel's military vehicles, according to the sources. DOHA -- The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Tuesday condemned Israel for its "indiscriminate bombing" of the Palestinian enclave of Gaza Strip, while calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire.

"The leaders of the GCC countries warned of the dangers of expanding confrontations and the spread of the conflict to other regions in the Middle East, unless the Israeli aggression stops," said the Doha Declaration adopted by the 44th session of the GCC Supreme Council held in the Qatari capital of Doha. DUBAI -- An international cooperation platform to provide sustainable finance capacity-building services for emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs) was launched on Tuesday in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The launching event was held on the sidelines of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change with the attendance of representatives from the platform's over 20 founding members.
