BEIRUT -- Three people were killed on Tuesday in southern Lebanon as confrontations continued to escalate between the Lebanese Shiite militant group Hezbollah and the Israeli army.

The Lebanese military announced in a statement that one of its soldiers was killed and three others were wounded by Israeli artillery fired on the hills of al-Owaidah in southeast Lebanon. (Lebanon-Israel-Violence)

CAIRO -- Seven people were killed and 25 others injured on Tuesday when a bus overturned on the eastern desert road in southern Egypt's Minya governorate.

Initial investigations suggested that the bus overturned after colliding with a sidewalk due to poor visibility caused by dense morning fog, the state-run Ahram Online news website reported. (Egypt-Bus Accident-Casualties)

TEGUCIGALPA -- At least 10 people were killed and 19 others were injured when an intercity bus fell into a ravine on a highway east of the Honduran capital Tegucigalpa on Tuesday, the Fire Department said.

The accident occurred on the highway that connects the capital with the department of Olancho, where at kilometer 30, the bus went off the road and fell into a ravine in Talanga. (Honduras-Accident)

DAR ES SALAAM -- Tanzanian Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa on Tuesday appealed to international and local communities to assist in providing humanitarian aid to people who have been affected by flash floods and landslides in the Hanang district in the Manyara region.
