MANILA -- The death toll in the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that hit the southern Philippine Surigao province last Saturday has climbed to three, the government said Wednesday.

In a latest report, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said one died in a region in the northeastern part of Mindanao island, and two others in the southeastern part of the island. (Philippines-Earthquake-Death)

BEIRUT -- Three people were killed on Tuesday in southern Lebanon as confrontations continued to escalate between the Lebanese Shiite militant group Hezbollah and the Israeli army.

CAIRO -- Seven people were killed and 25 others injured on Tuesday when a bus overturned on the eastern desert road in southern Egypt's Minya governorate.

TEGUCIGALPA -- At least 10 people were killed and 19 others were injured when an intercity bus fell into a ravine on a highway east of the Honduran capital Tegucigalpa on Tuesday, the Fire Department said.
