COPENHAGEN, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- ChatGPT was chosen as Denmark's Word of the Year for 2023 by the Danish Language Council in collaboration with the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) on Friday.
This year's competition saw a diverse range of words reflecting the global and local happenings of 2023.
These included Iltsvind (oxygen depletion), symbolic of environmental concerns, and koranafbraending (Quran burning), reflecting societal and religious tensions in the country.
However, it was ChatGPT, the name of the online chatrobot developed by OpenAI, that emerged victorious, highlighting the growing influence of artificial intelligence in Denmark's daily life, according to DR.
Previously, in 2021 and 2022, respectively, Coronapas (coronavirus passport) and Kyiv were selected as Denmark's Words of the Year. Enditem
