TOKYO -- Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, in response to allegations of slush funds within the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) factions, has reportedly decided to replace Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno, local media Jiji Press reported on Saturday.

CANBERRA -- An Australian-led team of international researchers has developed a method to use polyethylene (PE) waste as a feedstock in a major breakthrough for reducing plastic waste.

YANGON -- Myanmar has launched the 2023 Myanmar International Textile and Machinery Fair in its commercial city of Yangon to bolster the development of the textile and garment industry in the Southeast Asian country and facilitate industrial cooperation with China and other countries.

NEW DELHI -- At least seven people, including five women and two children, were killed and over 20 others injured, some of them critically, after a boundary wall collapsed on them in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, officials said Saturday.

The wall collapsed Friday on people who were part of a pre-wedding procession at Madapur Samaspur in Ghosi town of Mau district, about 303 km east of Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh. (India-Accident-Death) Enditem
