RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Corinthians could make an offer to sign striker Gabriel Barbosa from Brazilian Serie A rivals Flamengo, according to media reports in the South American country.

Barbosa has been identified by Corinthians manager Mano Menezes as a priority transfer target as he seeks to boost his squad for the 2024 season, newspaper O Globo reported.

It added that any deal could take until mid-2024 to materialize, meaning the forward could leave Flamengo nothing.

The 27-year-old has made 253 first-team appearances and scored 141 goals since joining Flamengo from Italy's Internazionale.

His existing contract with Flamengo is due to expire in December next year. Enditem
