PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia on Thursday dispatched a new batch of 73 peacekeepers, including 34 females, to join United Nations peacekeeping missions in the war-torn African nation of South Sudan.

Gen. Sem Sovanny, director-general of the National Center for Peacekeeping Forces, said it was the 12th time that the country has sent its blue helmet troops to South Sudan to replace the 11th batch, whose one-year mission had come to an end. (Cambodia-Peacekeeper)

TOKYO -- Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno, the top government spokesperson, submitted his letter of resignation on Thursday, as the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP)'s funds scandal escalates, local media reported.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand's gross domestic product (GDP) fell 0.3 percent in the September 2023 quarter, which suggests economic conditions remain challenging, Finance Minister Nicola Willis said on Thursday.
