ADEN, Yemen -- At least three tribal gunmen were killed in armed clashes with government forces in the country's oil-rich northern province of Marib on Wednesday night, said a military official.

The armed confrontations broke out between government military units and tribal attackers in Dhameen area, located close to the Safer oil fields in Marib, the local military source said on condition of anonymity. (Yemen-Clash-Casualty)

KIEV -- Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP) in the January-November period expanded 5.5 percent year-on-year, according to preliminary figures unveiled by the country's Economy Ministry on Wednesday.

In November alone, Ukraine's GDP grew by 4 percent on a yearly basis, down from 10.5 percent in October, the ministry said in a statement. (Ukraine-GDP)

GAZA -- The death toll of the Palestinians from Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7 has reached 20,000, according to a statement issued by the Hamas-run government media office on Wednesday.

The statement said the victims included more than 8,000 children and 6,200 women, while more than 52,000 people were injured and 6,700 others were missing. (Gaza-Death Toll)

KIGOMA, Tanzania -- At least four people were killed and eight others injured by a lightning strike Tuesday night in Kibondo District of Kigoma Region, western Tanzania, the police confirmed on Wednesday.

Philemon Makungu, the Kigoma regional police commander, said the victims were struck by lightning at 7:30 p.m., local time, in the village of Buyezi, leaving four dead and eight injured. (Tanzania-Lightning-Casualty) Enditem
