BEIRUT -- Two Hezbollah fighters were killed and five civilians were wounded on Monday in confrontations on the Lebanese-Israeli borders, Lebanese military sources told Xinhua.

The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the casualties were due to Israeli heavy artillery bombing at 21 border villages and towns in southern Lebanon and Israeli warplanes launching 16 raids on many areas of south Lebanon. (Lebanon-Israel- Border Clashes)

GAZA -- At least 20,674 Palestinians were killed, and 54,536 others wounded in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict since Oct. 7, the Gaza-based Health Ministry said Monday.

KINSHASA -- At least 20 people were killed in a landslide caused by heavy rains Sunday in the province of South Kivu, located in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), local media reported Monday, citing local sources.

According to Promesse Mazambi, a local civil society coordinator, at least 20 deaths have been reported in the village of Kalingi, in the territory of Mwenga. The torrential rains also caused considerable property damage. (DRC-Landslide-Death Toll)

ADEN, Yemen -- An armed attack targeted a military vehicle in Yemen's northern province of Marib on Monday, killing at least three soldiers and wounding three others, a military official told Xinhua.

"Unknown gunmen on board a four-wheel-drive vehicle ambushed a military vehicle as it was passing through the Bir Maslahah area south of Marib," the official said on condition of anonymity. (Yemen-Gunmen-Attack) Enditem
