PHNOM PENH, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- CIA FIRST International School Co., Ltd. became the 11th firm to list its corporate bonds on the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) on Wednesday.

Trang Ly, chairman of CIA FIRST International School Co., Ltd., said the school had issued 412,500 bonds, raising about 10 million U.S. dollars.

"The issuance of the bonds is to raise funds for our business expansion, contributing to the development of high-quality education in Cambodia," he said at the official listing ceremony here.

According to Ly, the school has three campuses in Phnom Penh, with some 5,000 students.

CSX chief executive officer Hong Sok Hour said the company's corporate bonds have a maturity date of five years with a coupon rate of 6.3 percent per annum.

"The new listing clearly reflects the confidence of companies and investors in the CSX," he said.

"So far, the CSX has received a total of 22 listed companies, including 11 equity firms and 11 corporate bond firms, collecting a total capital of about 359 million dollars."

Sok Hour said that to date, some 47,000 investors have opened trading accounts at the CSX.

Launched trading in 2012, the CSX is a joint venture between the Cambodian government holding 55 percent of the stakes and the Korean Exchange owning the remaining 45 percent. Enditem
