SEOUL, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- A South Korean airline's passenger plane engine caught fire on the bird strike Wednesday night, with no injury reported, local broadcaster YTN said Thursday.

The Boeing 737-800 plane of the local airline T'way Air, which took off from the Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan, was about to land at the Incheon International Airport, around 50 km west of the South Korean capital Seoul, at about 9:22 p.m. local time Wednesday (1222 GMT).

TV footage showed that a burst of sparks and flames flew out of the aircraft's right-wing engine. A smell of burning was felt inside the plane, the broadcaster said citing passengers on board.

The plane, which was carrying 122 passengers, stopped landing and flew up again before landing at the airport in about 20 minutes.

The engine fire came as birds struck the engine. No casualty was reported. Enditem
