WARSAW, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Slovenia's Lovro Kos and Anze Lanisek won the duo competition of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Poland, despite a new record set by Germany's Andreas Wellinger on Saturday.

The Slovenia duo sat on top after the first round as Lanisek jumped 134.5 meters and Kos took a jump of 132.5m, combining a seven-point lead over second-placed Halvor Egner Granerud (134m) and Johann Andre Forfang (132m) of Norway.

Four-time Olympic medalist Wellinger and his teammate Stephan Leyhe were in third place, while Romania came out the only team that did not qualify for the second round.

Kos and Lanisek then led all the way in the next two rounds, beating Austria's Manuel Fettner and Jan Horl by 42.5 points to claim the eventual victory.

Germany took the bronze, thanks to a stunning performance by Wellinger, who set a new record for the Wisla Malinka hill, jumping 144.5m in the second round.

The World Cup will continue at the Wisla Malinka hill on Sunday with the individual competition, before it moves to the next stop in Szczyrk on January 17. The final contests of the Polish Tour will be played in Zakopane on January 19-21. Enditem
